        Our Story

Why did we start Cast in Colour?

Claire purchased her first camera at the age of fifteen and fell instantly in love with telling stories through photographs. After graduating high school, she began working as a portrait photographer and this led her to find her true passion of photographing weddings. Claire’s camera obsession soon rubbed off on Martin, who began developing his own love for photography on their overseas adventures.

In 2016 after returning home from a year abroad, we decided to the leap and start our dream wedding photography business – Cast in Colour. Fast forward to today, we’ve photographed more than 150 weddings together and we’re so stoked that Cast in Colour is our full-time job!

        How did we meet?

We met as teenagers in our hometown of Adelaide, South Australia. We can’t remember who made the first move, but we’ve been totally inseparable ever since. More than a decade later and we’ve travelled the world together, put down roots in the city of Melbourne and absolutely love getting to work everyday side by side.

        Fun facts about us:

We’re homebodies at heart. Our ideal date night is a delicious home cooked meal (usually by Martin, his pasta is to die for) and getting cosy on the couch to watch a scary movie.

We’re big animal lovers. We call Martin the cat whisperer because all the neighbourhood cats adore him! Claire is totally dog obsessed, she can’t help but pat every dog we pass on the street.

We moved to Melbourne in 2012 and from the moment we arrived it felt like home. We can’t imagine living anywhere else.

In 2015 we travelled the world for 12 months with just two backpacks of belongings and our cameras. It was an incredibly life changing experience. Our three favourite travel destinations are Japan, Italy and Croatia.

Claire loves peppermint tea, tinkering on the sewing machine and pottering in the garden.

Martin loves strong coffee, live music and going to the cinema.
