Autumn is one of our all time favourite seasons for a wedding. Crisp air leads to cosy nights by the fire, the ground littered with leaves of golden hues. If the weather is a little bit too cold, it just means you get to cuddle your loved ones even closer. Plus you get to wear badass faux fur coats to keep warm!
Caitlin and Chris chose Terra Mia, an incredible rustic country retreat in Macedon for the venue for their intimate wedding celebration. A beautiful homestead house surrounded by lush grounds, with a beautiful old barn and cosy fireplace. It was like something straight out of a fairytale, and the Autumn light made everything even more magic.
Caitlin is a longtime friend of mine, we met many years ago through our shared passion of photography. Back then we were both inspired by fashion photography, and we would take adventures together out in nature. Fast forward several years and now we’re both wedding photographers! To be trusted to capture one of the most important days (marrying the love of her life Chris!) was an honour I’ll treasure forever.
As a busy wedding photographer herself, Caitlin hired the amazing Hattie and Bairn Tribe to style Terra Mia with a rustic and cosy vibe. From the amazing grazing table to the scattered Autumn leaves on the barn floor, every detail was just perfect.
Caitlin and Chris chose to get ready together in the morning, sharing heartfelt letters and being present in every moment. They helped one another get dressed, and we headed out into the gardens for their portrait session before guests arrived for the ceremony. The emotion and anticipation was electric, we shared many laughs together while taking photographs in the many stunning backdrops of Terra Mia.
In the afternoon Koren Harvey marriage celebrant officiated the beautiful ceremony on the lawn shared with their closest friends and family, before it was time to party the afternoon away with delicious food trucks, heartfelt speeches, and joyful dancing! This is certainly a wedding we will never forget.
